Chinese New Year

This year, Chinese New Year was at the beginning of February. The date of this big holiday changes every year, as it follows the lunar calendar, but something that doesn’t change is the size of the celebration. Traditionally, it is a time to visit one’s hometown but many Chinese people take the opportunity to travel overseas as well. Japan is a popular destination these days, as Chinese tourists are interested in Japanese food and the shared cultural elements – but the chance to go shopping in Japan is the biggest draw for many!
