Advice for visitors to Japan

Tokyo is a modern, clean and safe place to visit, but there are still a few problems a tourist might encounter. One thing is the lack of wifi. Many other countries have free wifi at public places and also in cafes, but Japan often does not. Having internet access is useful when traveling anywhere to check maps and other information, so I suggest renting a cell phone when you arrive. You can do this at any of the international airports when you arrive, and even if you are planning to leave from a different airport you can return it there too.
