Vaccine rollout in Japan begins
2021年5月27日
Finally, the beginning of the end to the coronavirus pandemic may be in sight. Tokyo and Osaka have begun mass vaccinations of the general public, starting with those over the age of 65. This has been made possible by the use of Self Defence Force buildings and issuing timeslots to eligible people by making reservations online. The goal of vaccinating up to 5000 people a day is the aim of these two cities.
There are plans to soon extend the rollout to other areas near Tokyo, like Saitama and Kanagawa, so residents of those places should keep an eye out on their mailboxes! Hopefully everyone can be vaccinated soon.
