Japan to Change Prime Minister
2020年9月3日
Last week, Japan’s prime minister shocked the country by announcing he would be stepping down from the job. This came just after he became the longest-serving premier Japan has had, and he cited health reasons as the cause. His time in office saw several big events that he lead the country through, and his replacement will be chosen later this month by an internal party election. The front-runners at the moment are Yoshihide Suga (the current chief cabinet secretary), Shigeru Ishiba (former defence minister) and Fumio Kishida (former foreign minister). Whoever wins will have many challenges in front of them and the whole country will be waiting and watching closely.
