Japanese golfer Hinako Shibuno wins British Open
2019年8月5日
For only the second time ever, a Japanese golfer has won a major tournament outside of Japan. The 20-year-old rookie player won by just one stroke in a fairy tale finish, in her first tournament outside Japan. She said that her aim had just been to make the cut, but instead went all the way to win the tournament. Because the tournament was held in the UK, the press conference afterwards had many English-speaking journalists and questions – and she kept smiling and stayed cool. They even embraced the nickname ‘Smiling Cinderella’ for her. You can watch her performance and learn from it; she always keeps smiling and her confidence carries her through the experience. Remember this when preparing for your own interviews. A positive attitude and confidence can help! When on the job, you might find yourself in a situation where you need to speak unexpectedly too, so remember the young champion’s example!
