Haneda Edo Festival
2016年8月30日
On August 28th I visited the Haneda Edo Festival held at Haneda Airport. The festival was actually inside the airport, on the 4th and 5th floor of the international terminal. I was there for the final day of the festival and I enjoyed it very much.
There were many people dressed in period costumes, including samurai, ninjas, courtesans and sumo wrestlers. They were talking and taking photos with travelers. I also saw Japanese style tap dancing and courtesans appearing in comedy plays. There were also many people including children and foreign travelers enjoying festival games from the period, such as goldfish catching and airgun shooting. They were all concentrating very hard! I think this year’s festival was a big success. I think there should be more events like this. Yosakoi festival, Awaodori festival, Nebuta festival, Hakata Dontaku festival – Haneda Edo festival could become as interesting as these other famous festivals.
