Cherry Blossom season is back again!

April 1 is the start of the financial and academic years in Japan and this is the time of year when the cherry blossoms are in bloom and everyone goes for “hanami” – eating and drinking underneath the sakura trees. It is a good chance to welcome new students or new office staff members. This year was even better as the sakura bloomed earlier and were in full bloom in Tokyo on April 1. Also this year is seeing an increase in the number of tourists from overseas coming for cherry blossom season. If you see a visitor to Japan sitting near you please go over and say hello and introduce them to the joys of hanami!
